to tip or not to tip.

in lieu of what's happening in our country as of the moment, i just wanted to share this with you.

can we consider the Philippines at the "tipping point"?

find out.

============ =======
taken from wikipedia..

Tipping points are "the levels at which the momentum for change becomes unstoppable. "

Gladwell defines a tipping point as a
sociological term, "the moment of critical mass, the threshold, the boiling point.".... "Ideas and products and messages and behaviors spread like viruses do"

The Law of the Few: "The success of any kind of social epidemic is heavily dependent on the involvement of people with a particular and rare set of social skills."
[4] Gladwell describes these people in the following ways:

Connectors are the people who "link us up with the world ... people with a special gift for bringing the world together."[5]

Mavens are "information specialists", or "people we rely upon to connect us with new information. "[6] They accumulate knowledge, especially about the marketplace, and know how to share it with others.

Salesmen are "persuaders", charismatic people with powerful negotiation skills. They tend to have an indefinable trait that goes beyond what they say, that makes others want to agree with them.

ang interesting ano?

but the bigger question is... are WE at the tipping point?
will there be another "EDSA"?
or are the people too tired.. or in the more apt term "SAWA na" with such types of 'revolutions' ? (since nothing good is going to happen anyhow)

if the "momentum for change", to borrow Gladwell's words, does persist... what future lies in store for our beloved country?

but i guess the bigger implication with Gladwell's definition is that such a momentum for change, such boiling points and threshold of sorts is heavily reliant and very much dependent on us --- the Filipino people.

in the end, WE will be the ones to decide if we will continue accepting the status quo or persevere in bringing out the truth.

i believe this all boils down to the classic question ---

Fight or Flight?

the answer is up to you.

or, to be more precise

the answer is up to us.
