summer summer summer!! hehe.. the first few days of my summer were spent erm... productively nga ba?? if you call 10+ hours of sleep productive then, yes it has! ;p
but now, gotta be productive (in the true sense of the word already). duty calls and, surprisingly, compared to the past summers, i am very much excited to tackle the SK projects. quite frankly, i don't know why.. ;)

anyhow, i went home last friday. in truth, i only had 2 exams. one was scheduled on tuesday (calculus) while the other was scheduled wednesday (lit). i went to ateneo on thursday just so that i could submit my fil final paper and 2 bonus papers. after that, i was able to finally declare FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!! ;o) wootwoot! hahah. since i couldn't contain my hapiness, i actually let out a shriek while i was in edsa walk! Lol ;p .. bumped into a friend and i told her that my summer had officially begun!! ;p anyway highway! went out with some friends and watched "Nanny Mcphee" in gateway. after that, went back to ateneo since i told my kabarkada from high school that i was gonna watch their lit play.. ;p practically a full day of relaxation.. hehe.

friday, around 4:40am, i woke up to the sound of my cellphone. i lazily pushed a button to stop it from waking my peaceful slumber. i went back to sleep. then, i suddenly woke up. i remembered that i had to be in the high school covered courts at exactly 6am for the baccalaureate mass!! i reached for my phone and glanced at the time. it was 5:30am. everything was a whirl after that. it actually took me only 10 minutes to take a bath, brush my teeth and get dressed. sheesh. talk about rushrushrush! ;p sarap kasi matulog.. haha. played with my 4-yr-old neice Abby and 1-yr-old nephew Angelo the night before kasi eh.. it was around 10:30pm already and we were still up. we just finished watching Pocahontas 2 (shucks! haha. balik pagkabata..??) and my niece insisted that we watch Cinderella. around the time when the clock struck 12 and Cinderella had to say goodbye to the prince, my nephew Angelo, after quietly watching the movie whilst sitting on my lap, wrapped his arms around my neck and placed his head on my right shoulder.. (aww, lambing ano? ;p hahah... more of antok ata. hihi.) was humming a lullaby na but his Ate Abby had her eyes fixed on the television and was clearly not yet ready to sleep. their mom (my cousin) was already sleeping and was roused from her slumber because of Angelo. i let go of the little guy and he crawled into his mom's arms naman.. (yang batang yan talaga.. kakagigil haha;p) i took my cue and went out of the room.

but going back! hehe;p would you believe that i got to the high school cov courts at exactly 6:05am?? okay okay, not 6am but, that feat certainly deserves a compliment, dont ya think?? ;0) anyhow, the baccalaureate was great! for the first time, singing was the reason for my exhaustion. haha.. my abs had been worked out due to all the long draws of breath i had done.. LoL. ;p imagine, getting abs due to singing?? hehe. gotta sing from the diaphragm kasi kaya ganun ang nangyari. since i had to rush to the venue, i dint eat breakfast. it was such a relif to know that we were gonna eat after the mass.. wootwoot! haha. i was so hungry and thirsty that, exactly right after the final song, i told Ate Romee "Kainan naaaaa!!!" hihihi;p

breakfast was more of brunch, i tell ya. pasta with squid, shrimp and tahong, pouch-sized scrambled egg filed with who-know-what-but-tastes-great-anyway stuff, different types of cheese and bread, strawberries, sliced papaya, pineapple, grapes, orange and apple, and also chicken empanaditas. .. weeee!! haha. let's not forget the salad bar!! hahaha. all this plus good company.. ah, now THAT is one heckuva breakfast. ;p

when i arrived in las piñas, as in kakatapak ko pa lng ng bahay namin, my mom told me that some guys were outside our house. she said that they might be the ones requesting for assistance in their basketball league. though i was kinda tired from the journey, perhaps due to my lack of sleep, i went out and talked to them. they were simply asking for trophies, medals, a basketball and a volleyball. they also invited me to the opening of the tournament (march 27, 4pm). after some discussion, i assured them of our support. phoned in their request to ate letty and, it turns out that they had already told Kap about their need for such due to the tourney they were going to have. she also told me that their request was going to arrive on monday.. just in time for the opening :)

hrm.. haba na ng blog ko ha.. hehe. sige, to sum it up, i had been cleaning up and throwing away some of my stuff. o.c. na nga eh.. haha. to give u a better idea of what im up to, due to all the trinkets i have and the mess it's creating, i actually used my beloved teddy bear as a "sabitan" of necklaces. i even placed my sunglasses just so that he'd be cute to look at... hahaha;p yesterday, i reunited with GAP choir here in our parish and was able to sing with them again in the 7pm mass. it has been sooo darn long since i was able to sing with them.. last december pa ata ako huling nakasama sa kanila eh!

today, monday, my dad, accompanied by my mom, went to the hospital (in Banawe) for his check-up. he was supposed to have his check-up last friday but, for some odd reason, he didn't want to go. . . anyhow, he had his blood chemistry test yesterday and one of the results was going to be released later this afternoon. due to this, i had to go to the hospital (in Las Piñas) so that i could text him the results and his doctor would be able to examine all of the tests thoroughly. upon arriving from the hospital, i ate a late lunch and then went to the barangay hall. ended up waiting for ate letty and it was a good thing that i brought a book to read. they arrived with the trophies and other paraphernalia that we were going to give out to the various subdivisions who requested for our help in their respective basketball tournaments. mukhang talagang magagamit yung malaking part ng budget for sports this year ah. ;) mas maayos na yun dahil at least, nagagamit, rytie-oh?;) at around 3:40pm, we loaded the trophies and the basketball and volleyball and went to greymarville (yes, that is the name of the subdivision :D ) after the speech and the tossing of the ball to signal the opening of the tourney, kagawad marto told me that we were going to leave already.

kagawad orly and i were bidding farewell already and gerry, the chairman of the event and the guy who went to my house a few days ago, was profusely telling me "uy, pasensiya na ha.. ang daming kulang., daming mali.." i noticed that there were some glitches in the flow of the opening and that he had been running to and fro ever since the start of the program. i couldn't help but remember while i was still starting out in SK. in our first few projects, i was as nervous and frantic as he was. and when he told me this, i simply looked him in the eye and said, "okay lang yan, gerry. first time mo ito kaya you're allowed to make mistakes." i remember this piece of advice that our Kapitan told me and based on my experience also. it was in the mistakes, in the booboos of the project wherein one grows, not only as a leader, but also as a person. you get to see what you should have done, the materials you could have used for a more efficient streamer, what you shouldn't have done, what improvement in the preparations must be done the next time, etc. it is in taking these booboos and looking at them in a different light in which one sees the treasure they hold. it all boils down to one's view of an event that makes the big difference.
